The voluntary program allows customers to buy green power to use as part of their everyday electricity use. Enrollment lets the power consumers demonstrate their support for green technology such as wind power and renewable energy projects that are available in the Northwest region of the United States. Customers volunteer to make a small percentage of extra payment on the power bill to cover the cost of operating this energy saving technology. This money is used to buy the needed Renewable Energy Credits for the customers.
