Fun Recycling Projects for Kids

Creating fun recycling projects for kids is a great way to help them become more eco-friendly and increase thinking of ways to help the earth. Children are naturally creative in coming up with ideas to reuse household items.

Finding Items for Recycling

Many items around the house can be used for another purpose decreasing waste. Items such as paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, cereal and food boxes as well as used paper can be reused for arts and crafts projects. Other items may include plastic bottles, aluminum cans, tin cans, bottle caps, coffee filters as well as a limitless number of other items.

Look around and be creative in ways to recycle items for craft projects. Involving the children in the thinking process will increase creative thinking and exploration. The majority of children are excited when it comes to hands on, fun recycling projects.

Recycling Ideas

Ideas for older children include tin punching projects, painted shoes or clothing items, recycled wind chimes, animal pet scoops made from plastic bottles as well as creating terrariums.

Involving the family in fun recycling projects will increase unity within the family. It will also provide an avenue of increased communication and participation among members. Creative thinking will increase in children and provide methods of action to help make a difference to save the earth.
