There are so many aspects to going green, eating green is no exception. Green eating consists of many different facets. Each facet can help you on your way to hopefully a healthier way of life.

Organic versus locally grown food does not always match up. There are many reasons to buy organic food, in many cases it is tastier and healthier than non. However, buying locally grown does always mean that is organic. Many times organic food has to be shipped in from further away, making the environmental impact of organic worse.
Going green can best be accomplished by reading the labels and seeing where your food and vegetable are coming from. For example, Fuji apples are generally NOT grown locally. Each apple should have a little sticker, take the time to read it. The less your food has to travel, the less environmental impact it has. It also helps your local economy. Many local farmers need your support. If you are going to the store anyway, try to a simple switch to locally grown food.
