The struggle to sustain the environment includes people from every walk of life. Every day around the world millions of people enjoy eco-friendly lifestyles without anyone giving it a second thought. Celebrities are in the spotlight 24 hours a day because of the fascination that surrounds their every day lives. Daryl Hannah has lived the eco-friendly lifestyle for almost 20 years. In 2007 she revealed she was driving a car manufactured in 1983 that ran on vegetable grease. She reported that she got 60 miles to the gallon using oil as a fuel source. Her home in Rock Mountain, Colorado runs off the grid using solar panels as an energy source. She recently had a sofa made of stone that is covered in live moss. She actually waters it regularly in order to keep it alive.
Ed Begley Jr.Actor Ed Begley, Jr. is a self proclaimed conservationist of many years. In fact, he hosted an HGTV reality show in 2007 that focused on green ideas for viewers to try in their own homes. In his own solar powered home the actor cooks on an outdoor solar powered oven. He collects rain water in barrels to use for watering greenery that surrounds his home. His largest recycling project is the white picket fence that surrounds his property. This innovative fence is constructed from recycled milk jugs that have been pressed into a plastic. Although his wife Rachelle is a supportive environmentalist, she did object when Mr. Begley wanted to use two bright orange 50 gallon plastic drums outside of their home to collect rain water.

The building included a 24 hour fresh air filter system, a rooftop landscaped in lush greenery, a water treatment facility and many other environmental friendly features, including an onsite dog spa.
