Strange Eco-friendly Tips Straight from Hollywood

Increasing numbers of the rich and famous are going green in fashionable, more eco-friendly Hollywood. Many of them are putting their famous names to support the cause to push for better environmental regulation. In their personal lives, they are buying hybrid vehicles, greening their homes and recycling. Green celebrities are regularly seen at local farmer's markets, recycling centers and environmental events. Some have even started their own eco-friendly product lines. They are happy to share their quite unique eco-friendly tips and ideas.

Next Level Water Conservation

Grammy winning musician Christopher Bridges, better known as Ludacris, suggests common eco-friendly tips such as taking less time in the shower and turning off water when your teeth brushing teeth. Most people make it a practice to do this as well. But Ludacris took it a step further when a couple of years ago he suggested what he called group showers in order to save both water and energy.

The Cycles of Winter Wear

Among the more active green celebrities in Hollywood is actor Adrian Grenier. The actor is a familiar face in the green world and regularly supports eco-friendly charities around the country. Grenier offered a tip for recycling clothing that may seem a bit strange to some. He suggested washing, then wearing winter clothing like hats and gloves from the lost and found. He reasoned that if the items were lost, someone else can continue the cycle and do the same thing until the clothing was lost again. In addition, he supports communal ownership of material possessions.

Repurposed on the Runway

Heather Mills, ex-wife of Paul McCartney is a green celeb who materialized her idea to release a fashion line of used clothing. Her collection, called Be@one, consists of menswear as well as women's clothing and was featured at the Celebrity Catwalk fashion event. Ms. Mills stated that over a million tons of clothing is thrown away and that she believes that discarded clothing could be sold or repurposed into fashionable garments. Although her line was not well received by everyone who attended, she did get an award at the event for her participation in animal activism.

Green Guidance

Actress Julia Roberts became concerned that she could not live up to being a truly fabulous green celeb and raise her family at the same time. She hired a celebrity green consultant to give her tips on how to live green and look good at the same time. The consultant teaches yoga and gives natural beauty advice to several other eco-friendly Hollywood celebrities. Ms. Roberts gladly accepts the hints and is grateful for the guidance that helps her live green, Hollywood style.

Royally Green

Green celebrities are not just busy in America. Recently, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, spent a week promoting environmental friendliness. At the end of that week, the prince hosted an electric car show that was held in London. The show featured a variety of green transportation choices. He was joined by several environmental enthusiasts and other celebrities who attended the showcase.
